There are parallels between climate change and corruption. Both are complex, global issues with far-reaching consequences. And both have the power to impact millions of people negatively. A multifaceted problem requires a multilevel solution. Governments, business and industry sectors, international institutions, and civil society organisations must work together to maintain integrity in climate action.

The Independent Integrity Unit enjoins GCF stakeholders to join the international community in commemorating International Anti-Corruption Day on the 9th of December 2022 with the overarching theme, "Our Collective Movement: Corruption Free Climate Action."

In anticipation of the occasion, the IIU has lined up a series of engagements and activities with partners from civil society, development institutions and various stakeholders to pace up the conversations on transparency, accountability and preventing corruption in climate action.

We invite you to take part by attending the events in this schedule:

07 December, 8:30 a.m. Washington / 10:30 p.m. Korea
IACC SESSION: Green but clean – more integrity for stronger climate resilience

Both the impacts of climate change, as well as lack of integrity, are disproportionately borne by vulnerable communities. The goal of the workshop is to promote climate governance models that are transparent, resilient, and representative, which in turn can support governments in meeting their Paris climate goals. A further objective is to present actionable tools and approaches that point out the connections between policymaking and climate change mitigation and adaptation through collaboration with partners in other sectors.

Workplace Harassment: what it is, what to do and where to go

The GCF promotes a safe and harmonious workplace that is free from harassment. All members of the Fund should be able to detect, prevent, and report harassment. However, harassment is sometimes challenging and can take many forms. Also, GCF personnel are often unaware of the method(s) for reporting potential harassment and the mechanisms available for resolving conflict. This webinar intends to address the above issues through an engaging online session, covering the principal concepts, definitions, and processes of harassment within the GCF's framework.
